Paper Preparation Guidelines
In the following you will find guidelines and templates for preparing your full paper to the Speech Prosody 2008 Conference. Read all the information carefully. Any doubts should be addressed to sp2008_scient@iel.unicamp.br.

GENERAL INFORMATION
- Deadline. Submissions will be accepted if posted until November 22nd.
- Full-paper submission. Only full-paper submissinon is possible. Regular session papers must be at most four pages in length.
- PDF format. All documents submitted must be in PDF format.
- Templates. You can prepare your paper either from MS-Word, Rich Text Format or LaTeX templates. PDF versions should be generated from one of the availabe templates after you finish composing the paper. More information on templates and PDF below. Please, strictly follow the instructions and formatting found in the templates.
- Language. All submissions must be in English.
- Peer review. Papers submitted to the Speech Prosdody 2008 Conference will be peer-reviewed articles. Each submitted paper will be reviewed by at least two experts in its respective field.
- Audio files. It is possible to submit accompanying audio files in addition to the manuscript. The PDF file must not contain hyperlinks. Accompanying audio files plus the manuscript in PDF format must not exceed 10 MB.
- Special fonts. We recommend using a Unicode-based font if you plan to integrate phonetic symbols or other special symbols, e.g., one of the SIL-IPA Fonts.
LaTeX TEMPLATE
If your paper will be typeset using LaTeX, please download the template
package that produces the proper
format.
In the package, you will find the following files:
- tmpl_sp08.tex (LaTeX template);
- sp08.sty (style file to be used with the template);
- figure.eps (example figure used in the template, in EPS format);
- figure.pdf (example figure used in the template, in PDF format);
- tmpl_sp08.pdf (PDF file generated by the template)
MS WORD TEMPLATE
If your paper will be typeset using MS Word, save this link
to download the template. You may need to click the right button of the mouse
and select "Save this link as..."
The template is named "tmpl_sp2008.dot". Drag it to the folder containing
templates near the MS-Word application. Then create a new file based on this
template.
To do this, restart MS-Word and select "Project Gallery" in the "File"
menu. A dialog window will be displayed. Select "Word documents" in the "Show"
popup menu. The currently available templates will be displayed. Click
"tmpl_sp2008.dot".
RICH TEXT FORMAT TEMPLATE
If you have problems using the MS Word template with your version of the program, you might create your paper modifying the sample document in RTF format (save this link).
PDF CONVERSION INFORMATION
Here it is possible to see a list of software for PDF conversion. Other links available here. We have succesfully tested the creation of PDF files from the available MS Word template using CutePDF and PDFCreator, as well as Adobre Acrobat Professional 7.
